12 Days of Christmas lapbook

Here is another one of our old lapbooks, but it is a great one! Rebekah and I made this in 2007, and it is another one that we love to look back at and learn from again. It is about the 12 Days of Christmas, the famous song. I'm sure most of you have heard it (we like the Muppets version a lot! :-D) but this lapbook teaches the spiritual meaning behind the song. Whether that is true or not, we enjoyed seeing how something secular could be tied into something Christian. I think we got it from Jamin's blog, found here: http://homeschoolblogger.com/jaminacema/435197/

This was a lot of work, but fun of course too! It was three file folders glued/ taped together. If you need more info on lapbooks, please check this post on my blog: here

But now I will just repost from Jamin for you, since we enjoyed it so much. This includes all the links you'll need to find the pages and print them. Hopefully all the links will work! (If not you can try to copy and paste them!)  At the bottom are our pictures-so scroll ALL the way down!

From Jamin: So in case anyone wants to make a 12 Days of Christmas Lapbook along with us here is all my research!

I have been working on putting together a lapbook for the 12 Days of Christmas.  I thought I would share what I have come up with in case anyone else wants to do it with their kids.
I first heard the Christian meanings to the song three years ago and have wanted to teach the kids about it ever since.  There is some question as to whether or not this song was originally written as a Catholic Cathecism in the 1500′s.  During that time in Europe the Catholic Church was being persectued.  Whether it was written with the intent of secretly teaching children about Christian priciples or that was added later, it is still a great way to teach our kids about the Christian faith! Now that I know about lapbooking I figured it is the perfect opportunity!
The meanings are here:
